It’s a significant release demonstrating our commitment to give you the best screen creation tools on the market. We hope you find many hours of enjoyment exploring and creating using it.
NEW FEATURES
Reverse Video
- Added ability to reverse video clips in the Media Bin. This is a super long-standing request from customers, that’s been on my personal PM bucket list for 4+ years. The wait is over. Turn on. Tune in and bend time, my friends.
Blur Region Effect
- Added Blur Region visual effect with configurable blur amount and tint color. Enjoy frosted glass in any shade your heart desires.
Freeze Region Effect
- Added Freeze Region visual effect. Select any region of the screen and freeze the selected area, or inverted selection area, in place for the duration of the effect. Get rid of those annoying / embarrassing pop-ups with a simple drag and drop effect. Screen differentiation. It’s our calling card. We're on a mission to make screen video malleable, and Freeze Region is another milestone on that journey. I can’t wait to see what you all do with it.
FEATURE IMPROVEMENTS

Awesome features!
Suggestion:
Adding the reverse video effect on the timeline would be awesome in scenarios where we want to reverse a section of a clip on the timeline without having to regenerate a new video file in the media bin.
Alternatively, if I choose to reverse a section of a clip on the timeline, the reversed clip is added to the media bin.
Thanks!0 -
Thanks davidcell40. We agree. The plan is the next iteration of Reverse Video will allow you to execute the reversal via a context menu on timeline media. Thanks for checking it out, making a video and leaving some feedback.

I have to agree, awesome new features in this latest update. Especially the Freeze Region effect is a great idea and a real time-saver for me!!
Only downside of the two new effects is that there can only be one instance of them on applied to a media: What if I'd like to blur or freeze more than just one area? Grouping the media works as a workaround but of course it would be nice to be able to use more than one Freeze Region or Blur Region per media.
Unfortunately, I experience crashes when using the Apply Last Transition Shortcut (Shift+T) with 2022.1.0. I can always reproduce this on my system (Windows 10), in different projects and no matter which kind of media or transition was used. It didn't happen with the previous version.
Another feedback on the "Select all media to the left/right" command. I really appreciate this feature, I was waiting for that for years and it saves that much time - almost!! :) Currently, it considers the beginning and the end of a media. But I think the "Select all media to the right" should actually only consider the beginning of a media and should not select any media that started to the left of the playhead. Otherwise it will select media that you usually don't want to edit.
I tried to demonstrate it in a short video - please excuse my English ;-)

Here is how it works in my DAW Studio One (apart from the fact that in Camtasia it's based on the playhead instead of the selected media):

As you can see, it only selects events (media in Camtasia's terminology) that start later than the current selection but not events that start much earlier.
Is there any chance to make this little adjustment to the new select function?

jazzundso - We haven't been able to duplicate the Apply Last Transition crash internally (multiple testers and machines). If you could open a ticket with our Support team it would allow us to collect info that would be helpful in tracking this down.

Hi Brooks,
I reported the Apply Last Transition crash via the Support chat. The support specialist said he was able to replicate the crash so I hope he has created a bug report for that already. I will still send a diagnostics report!0 -
