I also can't find the "file" in any of the menu tab. So I can NOT do "save as" or "save" or change format of the images. Please help. Thanks

    Hi,

Are you referring to the "Print to Snagit" function, or are you trying to print from Snagit to a piece of paper? The latter exists, but the "print to Snagit" feature is built on a Windows OS feature that macOS doesn't have, so we're not able to do that on the mac side.

The file menu should be at the top left of your screen, next to Snagit and the Apple menu.

Is this a limitation of macOS (it sounds like it is) or is it something that could be implemented in the future. I've seen what appears to be a good number of folks that would like to see this functionality.

Or can we get similar funtionality utilizing a different workflow within Snagit?

There's not a way we're aware of to do what windows is doing with printers, but we may be able to do it via a share extension. The issue there is, if other apps don't show system share extensions in a share menu somewhere, then there's no benefit to adding this.

    Totally understandable.

We have a good number of folks that have moved from Windows to macOS and are lamenting not having this particular functionality anymore. I'm not sure what the cost/time looks like for attempting the share extension, but I know it would be appreciated. :)

Makes sense! I will pass this feedback along to the team and we'll see if we can come up with something. Right now the best we have is if a file is in Finder, you can right click and open with Snagit, which is a feature we get free from macOS.

Thanks. I found the Snagit top menu line after I chat with the customer service. I am so used to PC OS and version. It takes adjustments on Mac version.

    Thanks.

Print to Snagit is always nice feature in window version I use/used. But too bad not in Mac. But for now, I can live without it in Mac for my work. Anyway, for my personnel use, I have that feature in window version on my own computer.

I've use Snagit on Windows since the beginning of Snagit. IMO, my favorite app, can't live without it.

I've moved to Snagit for Mac and miss the ability to PRINT TO SNAGIT. This is something I used to use very often.

I was hoping I could print to or save as a PDF, then Edit the PDF in Snagit for Mac; but, there doesn't seem to be the ability to edit PDF's in Snagit for Mac.  Does anyone know if I'm missing something here?

Luke Griffioen, if you know of anyway to effectively mimic the Snagit WIndows PRINT TO SNAGIT capability, I'm all ears.  I seriously miss this capability.  I'd be ok with Printing to PDF, then editing that PDF in Snagit, but, can't seem to get that to work in Snagit for Mac.

    Thanks, Ron

Snagit Mac can't currently edit PDFs. The best way to get content into Snagit from another app is to use Snagit's scrolling capture https://www.techsmith.com/learn/tutorials/snagit/scrolling-capture/
