Me, too! I've taken one of the templates and modified it with my brand elements, and wish I could actually save it as a template (instead of just a project) to use in the future.

The ability to create Template projects was added in Camtasia 2020.

The original question/request is marked "completed" but how does one do this in Snagit 2020 or 2021?

Sorry for the confusion. Camtasia has a different type of templates that can be created. Snagit does not yet have the ability to create your own templates.

Me too on the request.  Even if we could take an existing template, and change the colors to match our brand standards, that would be fine.  Love the product - help us love it even more :-)

Can't create and save project as a template? Really?  Well, that sucks.

Agree, why do we have to use and modify current templates. Why can't we create our own for use, or is it you want us to find something similar in the assets that we are required to pay extra for.

I would also like this option. In the meantime saving the template as .snag is pretty close.

    +1

Would it really be that difficult to add this feature? We've been asking for 2 years!

+1  I was shocked that it's not already an option.  Even more perplexed that you can't just create a new completely blank image/template. (unless I'm missing something).

I'd rather have a blank slate and drag stuff/add elements myself for many simple scenarios. Starting with image, then expanding canvas is some way is a bit weird.

edit: I was missing something, haha. I was just looking for it in the +(create) button from the toolbar.

    Hi,

You can create a blank image via File > New > New Image... which lets you pick a size and background color.

Thanks, Luke. I realized that just after posting. It's almost like I should look harder before complaining.  :)

I'm actually in disbelief. I have literally been fine tuning an existing template and saving it as .snag file, thinking I would soon convert to a template for our team.
Being able to create and publish your own template with custom branding, wasn't even a question I asked myself because, "of course SnagIt can do templates. It's so 'basic' compared to everything else it can do.."

Is there any plan to add this feature?

Actually saving them as a .snag file works pretty well for me.

I just copied/pasted the Drop Image here boxes from their templates, and created my own template.  Saving it as a .snag file work pretty well, because I generally just use the [Copy All] for images from SnagIt.  Then instead of going to templates - I just go to open and choose my template.
