The image file cannot be renamed unless you have used the 'File>Save' or 'File>Save As' command (or Ctrl+S or Ctrl+Shift+S) to name it other than the default SnagIt name. After you save an image file with an alternate name, you can right-click on it in the library pane, select 'Rename' and change the name to your heart's content.

I am confused. When I use the 'File > Save' option I have to select a folder I want it save in. And yes, when I do that I will name it. Many times I create an image, edit it, and then copy and past it in an email. In that case I do not need to store it in a separate file, as it will be in the Datastore. It would ne really useful if the 'Rename' option would work on the images which have a default Snagit name.

    Thank you,

In the library, when I select an image, a zoom slider appears in the status bar. Adjusting the zoom slider affects the sizes of all thumbnails in the library and, if there is a large number of thumbnails, it can take a while for snagit to catch up. Currently, I have 2700 thumbnails in my library. When I adjust the zoom percentage (either by moving the slider, or changing the value), it seems to take about 5 seconds to refresh. Sometimes, it has taken longer.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks Slenelen, it helps. I never "selected" an image so I never saw that option. I usually double-clicked the image, If it is a recent image I can recognize it by the small icon. It is only when I am looking for a past image that I would like them larger.

Techsmith, it would be useful to have the 100% toolbar always shown when in the library function.

Also, Techsmith, can you add the capability to have multiple datastores? It would be useful to be able to name them by year, or by Client project. I have over 11,600+ images. I imagine it could be implemented something like the  below.

    Thank you,

You're quite welcome, Jeff. I came across the zoom option in the library completely by accident. Well, sort of. I'm sure that somewhere in the back of my mind, I presumed that the Snagit library should functioned similarly to Windows Explorer. In Windows, pressing CTRL and scrolling up/down with my mouse changes to the thumbnail sizes, but you don't have to select anything first. I feel it's the type of feature that should just automatically exist. :)

Anyway, I'm glad I was able to help.
