Sorry to hear you're not liking Capture; but it also sounds like it's misbehaving? What do you mean by it sticking to the the task bar and not opening?

Hey, Capture is great WHEN IT WORKS....but I have had to download, and then uninstall, 3 times..it works once, and then freezes.. Why is this happening???

Sorry it's not working right, Glenn. So, you're saying that you can take one capture, then share/save/copy it... and then what happens? Are you able to start the next capture, or?

Are there talks being held for creating an icon that floats on the top of the screen for quick captures like Jing had? That was an extremely useful tool compared to opening the techsmith capture window each time.

    Hi Wesley!

We are indeed looking into a floating widget of some sort (see here). We'll update the community when we have more information.

    Thanks!

Where's my JING ?????????????  I want my Sun back!  Why disable something that worked so well?

Capture is a big pain in the butt...It doesn't open when you want it to - sometimes takes 2 or 3 attempts.

I couldn't agree more, it was bad enough when I first was forced to use it but now it's even worse. Now it doesn't even capture what I select.  It seems it just wants to capture whatever part of your screen it wants.  Example pic here is what happens every time I try to capture a section of my screen - on the right is the 'window' I want to capture - manual or automatic selection does the same. In the middle is my browser sitting behind it on my screen, on the left is my desktop.  I have moved the target window to multiple different places on my screen to try to recapture, but it doesn't work - I just keep getting captures like this.  Note: the 'size' of the capture is correct, it isn't recognizing the position of the selection area on my screen. BRING BACK JING!!!

    CMKW,

Do you happen to have multiple monitors at differing DPI settings?

Do you think, that Capture is just a tease so we get frustrated and just go ahead and purchase Snag It??

I have to delete and redownload Capture Every day. I love Snag It...and the free trial was great.. But Capture always froze and I had to keep deleting and redownloading.

Doug Troxell - yes I have multiple monitors (laptop and 1 external monitor), they both have the same display resolution.  Plus, when I first installed Capture it worked properly, then a couple weeks ago it started splitting the selection area.

Please bring back Jing!  Capture does not allow multiple screen captures at one time like Jing did.  Users must do one at a time and if you do not press copy completely then close the window you lost your screen shot!  I just to make multiple copies and then only use the ones I needed and canceled the rest.  It now takes me 10 minutes to do what used to take me 3 minutes.  Please don't try to fix what was not broken.

I would also like to see Jing back and never see Capture again.  Jing kept a history of your screen shots, was quickly/easily available and never hid the window you were trying to screen shot when it opened.  Capture is the opposite of all that. Just uninstalled it.

    Patrick,

Yes, this is the thing I miss the most.  I take screenshots and sometimes I might need that same shot the next day or a week or a month later.  I don't want to have save every shot and then have to go looking for it, and I don't want screenshots of my screen on 'the cloud' so  someone can gather random info about me.  The whole change puts TechSmith on the failed technology companies in my book.

We know Capture's lack of history is an impediment for former Jing users and provided and update in our FAQ.  (in short, its "on deck")

Capture is very cumbersome. Jing was simple. Please bring it back. I am uninstalling Capture.

I also miss Jing for all the reasons mentioned above.  I'm now back to using the Microsoft snipping tool, but it is cumbersome.  I liked Jing for many reasons.  When preparing documentation it was so nice to be able to capture multiple snips in sequence.  With Jing it was so easy, and then highlighting, pointing to, adding comments, etc., etc.  was a breeze.  I've tried tiny take, capture, and others, but nothing compares with the ease, simplicity, and utilities of Jing.
