Tarnished

Hi, this is a current issue in the sense that it is something that I think about SnagIt and TechSmith every time I use the product.

I could not fault SnagIt for any of the many really useful ways it has improved my productivity. But I never open it without thinking of the unpleasant series of emails I had with TechSmith a year ago about their 'opt out' Maintenance charge. 

Your product is made for productive, intelligent people - and that dark pattern is such an insult to that. And, the subsequent bald faced defence of making someone have to click to remove something from their basket that they never asked for ... well.

I want to praise and thank the dev and design team for an awesome product. It is such a shame that their amazing work stands in the shadow of this greedy, corrupt, dark pattern.
