Snagit (Windows): Snagit Does Not Start with Windows

Problem

Snagit is automatically set to start Windows. However, it does not launch when logging in to Windows.

Solution

Make sure the preferences in Snagit are set to start Snagit automatically when logging into Windows.

Snagit 13 and Later

  1. Open Snagit Capture and select File > Capture Preferences.
  2. Select Run Snagit when Windows starts under General.

If you receive an error stating Administrator Privilege Required on Snagit 2019, even when running the program as an administrator, please try uninstalling all versions of Snagit, then reinstall Snagit 2019.

  1. Hover over the Snagit Capture and click the Gear icon > Preferences.
  2. Select Run Snagit when Windows starts under General.

If Snagit is set to Run as an administrator, this may prevent Snagit from starting automatically.
