Recording 4K and 60FPS
Camtasia 2024 and later can record 4K + 60FPS screen content. However, there are various factors that will dictate your ability to actually capture up to true 4K + 60FPS:
- Camtasia Recorder Preferences must be set to:
- Maximum capture frame rate: 60FPS
- Recording encoder: H264
- The content on your screen must be refreshing at 60FPS or higher
- Your monitor refresh rate must be set to 60hz or higher and must also be set to 4K resolution
- You must have a discrete GPU and the monitor you are recording from must be powered by the discrete GPU
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 or AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT or higher is recommended
- Integrated Graphics are not able to capture true 4K + 60FPS content
- It is recommended to have the latest graphics drivers installed for your discrete GPU
- We highly recommend being on the Recommended Specifications for the Camtasia System Requirements for 4K and/or 60FPS.

Proxy Videos
4K and/or 60FPS content is not all the same and can vary from media to media. Your editing style and computer resources will also influence what kind of performance you might get. If you are running into any performance issues at any point, we recommend applying Proxy to your content for a smoother experience. This will allow you to have a smooth editing experience.
