Snagit Install Error Code: (5) Access is denied

Problem

During installation, the following error message appears:

Solution

Run as Administrator

1. Locate the Snagit.exe file or download Snagit here.
2. Right-click the file and select Run as administrator.
   

Disable Anti-Virus Software

Some anti-virus software can block Snagit from installing. Temporarily disable your security software and try installing Snagit again.

Manually Install Microsoft .NET Framework

Snagit requires Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6 or later. The Snagit installer automatically downloads and installs the framework. The Snagit installation fails if an error occurs during the process. To fix this issue, manually install the framework.

1. Download and install the latest version of the Microsoft .NET Framework here.
2. Restart your computer after installing Microsoft .NET Framework.
3. Try to install Snagit again.
