Error "Camtasia" Can’t Be Opened Because It Was Not Downloaded From the App Store

Problem

Message appears when trying to open Camtasia Editor: "Camtasia " can't be opened because it was not downloaded from the App Store.

Solution

1. Control-click Camtasia in your applications folder select Open.
2. Click Open.
   

To avoid this in the future with Camtasia Editor or other programs, follow these steps:

1. Open System Preferences.
2. Select Security & Privacy > General tab > App Store and identified developers. If you are unable to select this option, click the lock icon to make changes.
