Resolving Snagit 2024 Startup Issues

Problem

Snagit 2024 does not open after installation, showing an icon briefly before closing without running.

Solution

  1. Delete the Identity Folder:

    • Ensure Snagit is completely closed and not running in Task Manager.
    • Open the Run window (Windows + R), type %appdata%\TechSmith\Snagit 24\, and delete the files inside the "Identity" folder.
  2. Delete the License Folder:

    • Open the Run window (Windows + R), type %LocalAppData%\TechSmith\Snagit, and delete all files inside the "License" folder.
    • Open a new Run window (Windows + R), typeC:\Users\Public\TechSmith\Snagit, and delete all files inside the "License" folder.
    • Start Snagit from the Start menu, and sign in if using a subscription model.

By following these steps, Snagit should start without issues.
