Problem
When Clicking + in the Snagit Editor, as soon as an option is selected Snagit closes and has to be relaunched.
Solution
This is a known issue that is fixed in Snagit 2020.1.1 and later. From the menu bar, select Snagit > Check for Updates to install the latest version.
As a workaround you can access both create options from the File menu, or the recent capture tray right-click menu to create a video from images or image from template as shown here:
