Intel Ultra Processors Issue

Problem

We have identified an issue on Intel Ultra 5 and Intel Ultra 7 processors that affects rendering in Camtasia. It often will show as "green artifacts" on a rendered video and will cause performance issues when using Camtasia on a machine that has an Intel Ultra 5 or Ultra 7 processor. See this image for an example of what it appears like:

Solution

This issue was reported to Intel and they have confirmed its an issue with a driver update that was released. They are currently working on a fix.

See the report to Intel and follow their progress on a fix here: https://github.com/IGCIT/Intel-GPU-Community-Issue-Tracker-IGCIT/issues/1082

While Intel works to fix the driver issue, you can use these steps to force Camtasia to use software rendering instead, which will help with the issue:

1. Open the Camtasia editor and in the menu at the top, click Edit > Preferences > Advanced tab
2. Under the Hardware Acceleration section, change this to “Use Microsoft Basic Render”
3. Restart Camtasia and test again.

If using Microsoft Basic Render does not work, you'll need to roll back your driver version to a previous version where it was working.

If you're not sure if you have an Intel Ultra 5 or 7 processor, please reach out to our support team by submitting a ticket and include the following diagnostics file:
