Problem
When you go to launch Snagit, you receive a -3 error.
Solution
Delete the License Folder:
- Close out of Snagit so it is not running at all. Make it's not running in the background by opening your task manager (ctrl + alt + delete) and click on the Processes tab and make sure that SnagitCapture.exe, SnagPriv.exe, and SnagitEditor.exe are not running
- Hold down the Windows key on your keyboard and hit the R key to open the Run window
- In the Run window, type the following and then hit Enter: %LocalAppData%\TechSmith\Snagit
- Please ZIP up and send me the License folder from this location
- Please delete the files inside the License folder located there (not the folder itself, just the files inside)
- Open a new run window with Windows + R
- Enter the following and click OK: C:\Users\Public\TechSmith\Snagit
- Please ZIP up the License folder
- Delete all the files in the License folder you see here. (Don't delete the folder itself, just all files inside.)
- Open a support ticket and attach the zipped files that you created (note that this is a critical step in addressing the issue).
- Open the Start menu and run Snagit from the TechSmith folder.
