Solution
These steps are for Camtasia 2023 and later...:
Short Method:
- Open the Applications folder in Finder
- Right click on Camtasia and choose "Show Package Contents"
- Navigate to Contents > MacOS
- Open the CamtasiaSupport.app from there
- Click on "Reset Cache"
- Click Reset to confirm on the popup window
- Restart Camtasia and try again
Manual Method
- To start you will want to close out of Camtasia 2025 completely
- Once you have verified that Camtasia is no longer currently running in the background Via Activity Monitor press the command key + Space bar to open Spotlight Search
- In the search bar type in Keychain Access and click on the application to open it
- In the pop up Window choose Open Keychain Access
- In the keychain access window click on Login on the left hand side and start scrolling through the list
- Delete all entries in this list for TechSmith Account Camtasia 2025 by right-clicking on the items and choosing to delete.
- If you have multiple versions of Camtasia in this list go ahead and delete any you see.
- You will also want to double check the iCloud section on the left hand side as well if this option is available to you and confirm that all TechSmith Account data items are deleted from here.
- Next, open a Finder window
- Click on Go>Go to Folder...
- Enter in the following: ~/Library/Application Support/TechSmith/Camtasia
- Please ZIP up and send me the license folder located here, then delete the folder in that location
- Open a new Finder window, and at the top of your screen, click on the Go menu -> Go to Folder, type the following and hit Enter: /Users/Shared/TechSmith/Camtasia
- Please ZIP up and send me the License folder from here
- Delete the License folder located there
- Restart Camtasia and sign in or unlock Camtasia with your key
