New Features
Record to Camtasia Editor
- Updated the Snagit Capture window Video tab with a new “Open In” setting, which replaces the “Preview in Editor” toggle. Users can now select to open their video capture in Snagit Editor, choose "None" to save it in their Library and skip the preview, or open in Camtasia Editor where they can edit screen, camera, and audio recordings independently.
Feature Updates
Step Capture
- Guides created with Step Capture and shared to Microsoft PowerPoint now create slideshows with editable text, a title slide, and individual slides for each image.
- Users can now select and customize all like objects, such as step numbers, text, arrows, etc, with a single Select All button in the Tool Properties panel.
Subscription Software
- Updated the Subscription Expired dialog to allow users who have already purchased to sign in or switch accounts.
- Added a link to view a user's account and clarified language on the Enter Software Key screen.
Capture
- Updated the Ready to Record window to indicate whether the video will open in Snagit or Camtasia Editor.
Sharing
- Removed plugin version numbers from the Share Preferences dialog.
Performance Improvements

Snagit Application Name
- To better reflect our commitment to consistent innovation and improvements, Snagit's application name is now simply "Snagit" with no version number in the name. Users who are subscribed to Snagit or who receive Snagit as part of their Camtasia subscription will no longer need to download a separate Snagit installer once a year to get the latest features and improvements.
