Problem
When searching or viewing the Snagit Library, no results are displayed.
Solution
If you are using a cloud location for the Library (added in Snagit 2022), make sure the files are available offline.
Snagit searching relies on Windows indexing. If Windows indexing is paused, disabled, or not working, then searching in Snagit will likely have problems. So first, check the status of Windows Indexing.
- Open Windows Settings.
- Open the Search category.
- Select Searching Windows and the window that opens will display the current status of Windows Indexing.
Option 1: Plug In Computer
Some devices will turn off or pause indexing while on battery power to save battery. Plugging in the device should resume indexing. The device may need to be sufficiently charged before indexing resumes.
Option 2: Try Microsoft Troubleshooter
- Open Windows Settings.
- Open the Search category.
- Select Searching Windows and scroll to the bottom of the window to find the indexer troubleshooter.
Option 3: Resume Indexing / Make Sure Windows Search Service is Running
The steps below will restart the Windows search service.
- Press Windows+R on your keyboard to open the Run window.
- Type the following and press OK: services.msc
- In the window that opens, locate the Windows Search service and select it.
- Click Restart (or click Start if that is the only option).
- If the issue remains please try restarting the computer.
