* Elgato Facecam: Use Elgato's Camera Hub app to install the latest firmware if you are having issues.
** Elgato Facecam Pro: While we have tested this device, it currently only works at 1280x720 resolution when that is chosen within the Camtasia Recorder preferences. We will fix this in a future release.
*** Basic USB-C HDMI Capture Card: These cards are used with cameras which output via HDMI. There are various brands and models available. They are much cheaper compared to other capture devices. The majority of them output at 1080P/30FPS max.

Webcam Shows as Unavailable in the Camtasia Recorder
This can occur when using a program called BitDefender. BitDefender has a webcam protection feature to not let other programs use the webcam. Here is where the setting can be turned off.
There are other programs out there which can block your webcam from being used so check to make sure no other program is blocking it.
We are working to provide greater camera compatibility in Camtasia and would love to hear from you.
