How Do I Cancel a Subscription?

Snagit/Camtasia: Cancel a Business License Subscription
  1. Visit manage.techsmith.com and sign in to your TechSmith account.
  2. On the Dashboard, select the ellipsis button (icon_ellipsis.png) of the product you wish to cancel.
  3. Select View subscription.

  4. Select the ellipsis button (icon_ellipsis.png) of the product you wish to cancel.
  5. Choose Cancel subscription.

  6. After reviewing the information in the popup, select Cancel subscription.

You’ll retain access to the product until the end of the billing period (in this example, March 14, 2026). 
After this date, if you wish to continue using the product, you’ll need to re-subscribe.

If you change your mind, you can un-cancel prior to the deactivation date to seamlessly retain access to the product.

If you're cancelling a legacy license subscription (former maintenance), please note that it will no longer be available for purchase.

If your subscription ID begins with "M", this is a non-auto-renewing subscription, so you will not be charged automatically. You can renew your subscription manually on the Keys tab.

Snagit/Camtasia: Cancel an Individual License Subscription

To cancel your subscription for Camtasia Starter/Essentials/Create/Pro or Snagit Individual:

  1. Visit manage.techsmith.com and sign in to your TechSmith account.
  2. On the Dashboard, select the ellipsis button (icon_ellipsis.png) of the product you wish to cancel.
  3. Select View subscription.

  4. Select the ellipsis button (icon_ellipsis.png) of the product you wish to cancel.
  5. Choose Cancel subscription.

  6. After reviewing the information in the popup, select Cancel subscription.

You’ll retain access to the product until the end of the billing period (in this example, December 5, 2026). 
After this date, if you wish to continue using the product, you’ll need to re-subscribe.

Assets/Audiate/Screencast: Cancel a Subscription (Online Store Orders)

At manage.techsmith.com, you can cancel your subscription for these products:

To cancel your subscription:

  1. Visit manage.techsmith.com and sign in to your TechSmith account.
  2. Go to the Online store orders tab.
  3. Select the ellipsis button (icon_ellipsis.png) of the product you wish to cancel.
  4. Select Cancel subscription.

After this date, if you wish to continue using the product, you’ll need to re-subscribe.

*If you cancel your Screencast Pro subscription, after the end of the billing period, your account will switch to a free Screencast account.

Videos that have not been viewed within the last 12 months will be removed, and additional content cannot be uploaded until the total video count goes back to 25. See our content deletion policy.

Assets/Audiate/Screencast: Cancel a Subscription (Direct Orders)

At manage.techsmith.com, you can cancel your subscription for these products:

To cancel your subscription:

  1. Visit manage.techsmith.com and sign in to your TechSmith account.
  2. Go to the Direct orders tab.
  3. Select the subscription that you would like to cancel.
  4. Select Manage subscription.
  5. Select Turn off auto-renewal

  6. After reviewing the information in the popup, select Turn off auto-renewal.

Your subscription will remain active until the end of the billing period (in this example, August 10, 2026). On this date, your subscription will expire, and access to the products will end. You will not be charged again.

If you change your mind, you can turn auto-renewal back on anytime before the expiration date.

Or, you can renew your subscription manually during the last 30 days before the expiration date. You will receive an email notification about the upcoming expiration.

To cancel one out of a few products in your subscription, follow these steps:

  1. Select Add seats or products.
  2. Next to a product, select Cancel (icon_bin.png).

  3. Select Calculate and place the zero-amount order.

The product that you cancelled will remain active until the end of the billing period (in this example, August 10, 2026). On this date, your access to this product will end. Once you cancel a product, there is no way to undo it.

*If you cancel your Screencast Pro subscription, after the end of the billing period, your account will switch to a free Screencast account.
