What happened and how does it affect me?
- TechSmith certification has a new home and is now free and available to anyone with a TSC account. No subscription or purchase is necessary to access them.
- The content of the certification programs has not changed and anyone that has completed certification in our previous system will have the completions honored in the new system.
- Each person that wishes to access the certification programs needs their own TechSmith account. Sign up for a free TechSmith account here.
- The new platform is found at www.techsmith.com/learn/certification/.

What if I already completed the Snagit or Camtasia certification program?
We will honor any completions of our current certification programs in the new system. The programs will be marked complete on a as yet to be decided date.
What if I'm in the middle of a certification program right now?
You have until a to-be-decided date to complete the program and we will honor the completion in the new system. If you’re just starting the program, you might consider switching to the new system and starting over.
Are the Snagit and Camtasia certification programs really free to everyone?
Yes!!! Anyone with a TechSmith account can access the programs and become certified. Certification no longer requires a subscription or purchase. Sign up for a free TechSmith account here.
Is the content the same as before, or should I take certification again?
The content is the same! Anyone that completed the current version of our certification programs will have the completions honored in the new system.
Can I still share on LinkedIn?
You sure can! It's now even easier to make this happen. When you complete a certification program, you’ll see a big blue LinkedIn button that takes you through the process.
Will the current link I have on my LinkedIn profile continue to work?
We believe so, however, we’re not completely certain. You can always log in to the new system and add the updated link to your LinkedIn profile.
What happens to my old certifications?
These will eventually go away. Feel free to log in to the previous certification platform and download any certificates you’d like to keep (certification.techsmith.com).
Does each one of my employees need to create their own TechSmith account to access?
Yes, to access certification each person needs their own TechSmith account. It’s free to sign up for an account and access our certification programs.
I lost access to my TechSmith account with my certification, what should I do?
