Snagit: No License Found

Problem

If you are receiving this "No License Found" dialog in Snagit, please try the recommended steps below.

Solution

Please try these steps to solve the issue. 

1. Verify your purchase was successful

After a successful purchase, you'll receive an email confirmation and a receipt. 

In the order confirmation email, you can click the "Manage Account" button to view your TechSmith account and confirm you see your Individual subscription or Business key saved.

2. Verify you are signed into Snagit with the correct email

Once you've confirmed your purchase was successful and verified that it's under the correct email, you will need to check the Snagit software itself to confirm you're signed in correctly. These steps are the same for both Windows and Mac:

  1. Open the Snagit Editor and click your account dropdown in the upper-right corner.
  2. Confirm that you are signed in with the correct email address (account).
  3. If the email is incorrect, select "Sign Out", then sign in using the email you used to purchase.

If you have verified that you did not successfully purchase, you can click the Buy Now button from your account dropdown to purchase a Snagit subscription. After completing your purchase, Snagit should update automatically or after restarting the software.

3. Enter your software key manually

If you already have your software key and need to enter it manually, please follow the Enter Software Key steps to activate Snagit. You may also provide these steps to someone else if they will be using the software instead. An active subscription is required to use Snagit.

4. Contact your purchasing or IT department for your software key

If someone else placed this order for you - such as an IT department or purchasing department - you would need to contact them directly for your software key. 

If you purchased through a reseller or distributor and do not have your software key, you will need to contact them directly.
