We are currently investigating reports of an issue where users are unable to paste images into Microsoft Teams using the right-click menu. This behavior is related to a recent Microsoft Teams update and affects multiple Windows applications.
When attempting to share a capture from Snagit to Microsoft Teams, you may experience the following:
- You copy an image in Snagit (via Copy All, Ctrl+C, or right-click).
- You navigate to Microsoft Teams and right-click in the message field.
- The Paste option in the menu is greyed out and cannot be clicked.
Note: This is a known issue within the Microsoft Teams desktop client affecting various applications and is not limited to Snagit.
While Microsoft works on a permanent fix for the right-click menu bug, the standard Windows keyboard shortcut remains functional.
How to paste your capture
- Perform your capture in Snagit and click Copy All (or press Ctrl+C).
- Navigate to Microsoft Teams and click once inside the message input box to ensure it is active.
- Press Ctrl + V on your keyboard to paste the image.
The image should appear in the message field immediately, bypassing the disabled right-click menu.
Microsoft is expected to resolve this in a future update. To ensure you are running the latest version of Teams:
- In Teams, select the Settings and more (...) icon next to your profile picture.
- Select Check for updates.
- Teams will check for and install any available updates in the background.
