Screencast: Deprecated Content Types

Problem

What formats work on Screencast?

Solution

Screencast has been updated to reflect standards of the modern web and the browsers that most people use to access content. As a result, support has been deprecated for older content types (file formats). This reflects the need to provide content that works on smaller screen sizes (e.g. phones, tablets). Additionally, modern web browsers are beginning to remove Flash support.

The following content types are no longer supported for playback on the Screencast.com View Page:  .asf, .avi, .flv, .m4a, .mp3, .mpeg, .rm, .swf, .wmv

Although these content types are not supported for playback in the View Page, users can still download the files to play offline.
