Solution

We recommend updating Camtasia Editor to the latest available version to address this issue.

Option 1:

  1. Make sure Camtasia Editor is closed
  2. Open a run window by holding your Windows key + R key on your keyboard
  3. Copy and paste in the following: %programdata%\TechSmith\Camtasia Studio 25\
  4. Find and delete the Identity folder
  5. Find and delete the Reginfo.ini file
  6. Start Camtasia Editor and see if you have the same issue

Option 2:

We recommend making sure Windows Defender Firewall and/or VPN connection is not blocking Camtasia Editor from being able to reach out to sign-in servers used with your TechSmith account(s).

  1. First select the start menu for Windows OS, in the search area please type: Windows Defender Firewall

  2. In the Windows Defender Firewall window please select Advanced Settings.
