Snagit Capture Quits Working or the S Icon Disappears

Problem

When trying to capture in Snagit on Mac, the Capture button in the Editor is unresponsive or the S icon in the menu bar does not appear.

Solution

We have received reports of an issue with Snagit 2023 on macOS Ventura and are currently collecting more information. We have seen there be some positive effects with these steps to restart the SnagitHelper:
  1. Press Command+Space Bar on the keyboard to open Spotlight Search
  2. Type Activity Monitor and open
  3. Locate Snagithelper2023 under the CPU Category
  4. Highlight Snagithelper2023 and click the Stop button > Choose to Force quit the process

  5. Relaunch Snagit and check for the SnagitHelper Icon now.
