Set the Canvas Size to Match the Video for All New Projects
Videos imported into Camtasia (Mac) by default, are set to the canvas at 1080p resolution (1920x1080). This means that if the video is not exactly 1920x1080, it will be scaled to have 1080 height and the width of the video will be scaled proportional to the videos original aspect ratio.
To change default option, from the menu bar select Camtasia > Preferences > Canvas.
From the Canvas Dimensions dropdown (for both Full Screen Recording and Region Recording) choose Original Recording Dimensions.
