Snagit Install Error 1324: The Folder Path Contains an Invalid Character

Problem

During the installation process, this message appears: Error 1324: The Folder Path Contains an Invalid Character.

Solution

Windows 7, 8, and 10

1. Press Windows+R on your keyboard to open the Run window.
2. Type the following and click OK: regedit
3. Locate the following Registry Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders\Personal
4. Verify the path for Documents matches the path of the Documents folder in the following location:C:\ Users \ Your Username \ Documents
