Camtasia showing "Maintenance Expired" after upgrading to Camtasia Pro

Problem

Camtasia shows, "Maintenance Expired" after purchasing an upgrade to the Camtasia Pro plan.

Solution

If you are an existing Maintenance customer* and you are upgrading to the Camtasia Pro plan, you will need to take an additional step to ensure Camtasia is signed in appropriately. To do this, please follow the below steps:

  1. Launch Camtasia 2024's Home Hub and choose 'Sign Out'

  2. Exit the Camtasia Home Hub then please open the Windows Run... command by holding down the Windows key on your keyboard, and tapping the R key.
    1. Please type/copy & paste the following into that window then press OK/Enter: %PUBLIC%\TechSmith\Camtasia\License

  3. Please delete all files within this folder.

  4. Please close that folder and open the Run... command again via the Windows key plus R method mentioned above.
    1. Please type/copy & paste the following into that window then press OK/Enter:
      %PROGRAMDATA%\TechSmith\Camtasia Studio 24

  5. Delete only the 'Reginfo.ini' file located in the folder that pops up.

  6. Close the window then Launch Camtasia and log in using your Camtasia Pro account credentials.
