Problem
When recording a Webinar, Zoom call, or Skype conversation, Snagit is not recording my microphone or audio from the other speaker.
Solution
To record both sides of the conversation, please follow the steps below:
- Open the Windows Control Panel.
- Click the Sound category.
- Click the Playback tab.
- Right-click the Headphones option and select Set as Default Device.
- Set the System Audio in the application of your choosing (Skype, WebEx, etc). Make sure the audio can be heard through your headphones.
In the Skype audio options, match the correct devices to be able to hear the audio.
In Snagit make sure to select the Microphone and System Audio.
Snagit Capture Window
- Open the Capture Window and Select the Video Tab.
- Turn on (blue) System Audio.
- Turn on Microphone
- Click On > and select the correct microphone from the drop-down menu.
- Click Record to being the recording.
- When beginning a video recording the Video Recording toolbar appears.
- The options on the toolbar can be toggled on or off by clicking the matching icon before and during recording:

Webcam: Record live video from the connected or built-in webcam. Screen video is not recorded when the webcam option is enabled.

System Audio: Record the sound from your computer such as application alerts or the audio playing from your computer speakers.

Microphone Audio: Record the audio from your computer's built-in microphone or from a connected USB microphone.

Webcam: Record live video from the connected or built-in webcam. Screen video is not recorded when the webcam option is enabled.
