Problem
When installing Camtasia on Windows the following error appears:
Error Code: (8695)
The WebView2 Runtime install failed. Please download and install the WebView2 Runtime Evergreen Standalone Installer from here.
Then, run the Camtasia installation again.
Solution
Before proceeding, please make sure that the computer that Camtasia is being installed on meets the minimum system requirements.
WebView2 Runtime is a requirement to install Camtasia 2021 and later.
Option 1: Reboot and Run as Administrator
- Reboot the computer.
- Right-click on the installer file and choose Run as administrator.
Option 2: Manually Install WebView2 Runtime
- Download the WebView2 Runtime Evergreen Standalone Installer from here.
- Reboot the computer.
- Install Camtasia.
