Waveform Can Show Blank If Zoomed in Too Far

Problem

When zooming in on the timeline too far the audio waveform may show up blank.

Solution

1. Exit Camtasia and the Camtasia Recorder. Confirm that they are not running in Task Manager.
2. Press Windows+R on your keyboard to open the Run window.
3. Type the following and click OK: regedit
4. Browse to:
   
   • Camtasia 2024: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\TechSmith\Camtasia Studio\24.0\Camtasia Studio\24.0
   • Camtasia 2023: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\TechSmith\Camtasia Studio\23.0\Camtasia Studio\23.0
   • Camtasia 2022: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\TechSmith\Camtasia Studio\22.0\Camtasia Studio\22.0
   • Camtasia 2021: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\TechSmith\Camtasia Studio\21.0\Camtasia Studio\21.0
   •  
5. Click the 24.0, 23.0, 22.0, or 21.0 folder (depending on the version being used).
6. Double-click the following value and change it from 1 to 0:
   
   • Camtasia 2021 and later: WPFUseHardwareForRendering
7. Close the Registry Editor, and open Camtasia.
