Anti-Virus Software Reports a Virus, Worm, or Trojan in My TechSmith Product

Please contact our support team with the following information:

  1. When does this warning occur? During installation or when using the software?
  2. Was the software downloaded directly from our website or by another vendor/website?
  3. Which anti-virus/spyware software are you running and what version? (Norton, AVG, etc.)
  4. What is the date/version of the virus definitions, have you recently updated them?
  5. What file is being flagged by the anti-virus software? (eg. jing_setup.exe)

If possible, provide a screenshot of the antivirus warning from your software so we may determine the cause the situation. We will investigate these claims and report False Positives to the anti-virus software manufacturers so they can issue updated definitions that will not flag our software.

If you installed a version of Snagit, Camtasia Studio, Snagit (Mac), or Camtasia (Mac) from another website other than TechSmith or from one of our authorized resellers, please uninstall the version and download TechSmith's software from the TechSmith's Download Center.
