How do I update Snagit or Camtasia Editor to the latest version?

With an active, annual subscription from TechSmith, you qualify for the latest version of any desktop applications included in that subscription! Check the TechSmith portal for the current status of your subscription and links to download and install the latest version of your apps.

Snagit: How to access the latest version

You must have an active subscription that includes Snagit access to use (and continue using) the latest version. It is highly recommended you check and confirm before installing a new version of Snagit.

Option #1: Check your TechSmith account

1. Visit manage.techsmith.com and if prompted, sign in to your TechSmith account.
2. Go to the Keys tab.
3. Download your software. Or, you can download the latest Snagit version here.
4. Copy your new key and paste it when prompted during the installation process.

If you have an active Camtasia Business License Subscription, you can also access the latest version of Snagit and use the same key to unlock it.

Option #2: If you own a Snagit Individual Subscription

1. Download Snagit 2026 here.
   Or, visit manage.techsmith.com and sign in to your TechSmith account. Next to Snagit, select Download.
   
2. If prompted to sign in, enter the email you used during the purchase.
3. If you are not prompted to sign in, it's possible Snagit activated automatically.
   To check if you're already activated, open the Snagit Editor and select Help > About Snagit to confirm licensing information.

If you have an active Camtasia Individual Subscription (Starter, Essentials, Create, or Pro), Snagit access is included in your subscription.

Option #3: Ask your IT/Admin

If your organization purchased Snagit on your behalf and you are unsure of your license status, please contact your IT/Admin for assistance.
