Can I record and edit my Camtasia projects from the cloud (iCloud, OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive, Box, etc.) or network drives?
No, this is not supported. We support using a local storage device to do all of your recording and editing from.
Can I archive or backup media files to the cloud or network drives?
Yes, this is supported. Any media or project files not in active use can be archived or backed up to the cloud or to network drives.
All of my files are showing on my local storage drive, but they are being synced to the cloud during recording and/or editing. Does that count as cloud storage?
Yes, this is considered cloud storage and is not supported.
If I am working with all my files on my local storage device, can I set a cloud storage location to sync with that local storage location during recording or editing?
No, this is not supported, as noted above. We highly recommend waiting to sync any files associated with your Camtasia project until Camtasia has completely closed. Syncing during recording or editing may corrupt your files.
Why do you not support recording or editing Camtasia projects from the cloud or network drives?
Unfortunately there are too many variables at play that can cause a bad experience for you if you try to record and edit from the cloud or network drives. The last thing we want is for you to have corrupt or lost files. Working from local storage will provide the best experience possible.
