Snagit: Remove My Software Key

If you need to remove your software key from Snagit, please follow the steps below:

Snagit (Windows)

Snagit 2023.1.0 and newer:

1. Close Snagit, making sure it's not running in the background by checking Task Manager (Control + Alt + Delete)
2. Go to manage.techsmith.com and sign in
3. Click on the "Keys" tab at the top of the page
4. Find your Snagit key listed here (copy and paste the key into a blank document or notepad if you need to save it)
5. Click the trash can icon next to the key to remove it from your account
6. Press Windows + R to open a run Window
7. Copy and Paste in the following, then click OK: C:\ProgramData\TechSmith\Snagit 23
8. Delete the Reginfo.ini and Reginfo.txt files from here
9. Press Windows + R to open a run Window
10. Copy and Paste in the following, then click OK: %LocalAppData%\TechSmith\Snagit
11. Delete the License folder located here (If you don't see a License folder at this location, please move on to the next step)
12. Press Windows + R to open a run Window
13. Copy and Paste in the following, then click OK: C:\Users\Public\TechSmith\Snagit
14. Delete the License folder located here
15. Re-open Snagit and enter a new license key

Snagit 2023.0.3 and earlier:

1. Close Snagit, making sure it's not running in the background by checking Task Manager (Control + Alt + Delete)
2. Go to manage.techsmith.com and sign in

11. Delete the License folder located here
12. Re-open Snagit and enter a new license key
