The free trial of Camtasia is a fully functional 7-day trial.
If you decide to purchase, there is no need to download and install Camtasia again—instead, simply unlock the trial with your software key. If you've purchased an individual license subscription of Camtasia or a Camtasia Plan (Camtasia Essentials, Camtasia Create, or Camtasia Pro) you'll just need to sign-in to unlock.
Camtasia (Windows)
- Open Camtasia
- Sign in to your TechSmith account using the email that you purchased the Camtasia subscription with.
If you do not have a TechSmith account, choose the “Forgot password" option. Using the email address you purchased the subscription with, you’ll go through the password reset workflow. - Your Camtasia subscription is activated.

- Open Camtasia.
- In the Camtasia trial dialog, click Enter Software Key.
- Enter your software key and click Unlock Camtasia.
- Open Camtasia.
- Select Help > Enter Software Key.
- Click Enter Software Key.
- Enter your software key and click Unlock Camtasia.
- In Camtasia, select an option from the Export menu.
- Enter your key into the Enter Key field and then click Produce without watermark.

- If you are running the latest Camtasia version, you do not need to take any action – just keep using your current key.
- If you are not running the current version, download the software and enter your new key to get started.

- Open Camtasia
