Why Did I Receive a Message That My Software Key Is Counterfeit?

At TechSmith, we do our best to keep counterfeit software keys under control, but sometimes unauthorized vendors distribute these software keys before we can intervene. It appears the key you've been sold/given is one of those unfortunate few.

Please be advised that we are unable to give ongoing technical support to customers using counterfeit keys.

We advise you to:

  1. Immediately contact the party that provided the software key to you, and
  2. Take action to protect yourself from a fraudulent sales transaction.

We are also interested in learning more about how you acquired your software key. This will help prevent future incidents. Please submit a ticket and let us know where and how you obtained your software key. Any other details that you can provide are appreciated.
