Can someone else manage my seats?

If you need to stay in charge of billing, renewals, and purchases but want someone else to manage seats, you can assign a seat manager.

This is useful if a purchasing or billing contact owns the subscription, but another person (an IT admin or another team member) handles day-to-day user access to these products:

How to add a seat manager?

  1. Visit manage.techsmith.com and sign in to your TechSmith account.
  2. Go to the Seats tab.
  3. Locate the subscription for which you need to add a seat manager.
  4. Select Seat managers and add an email of a person who should become the seat manager.

  5. An email message will notify them about their new seat manager status, and they can use the link in the email to assign seats.

You may have several products under one subscription ID. If you add a seat manager for the subscription, they will be able to manage seats for all of the included products.

To add different seat managers for every product, select a product first, and then add a seat manager.

 

What can seat managers do?

Assign & revoke seats in exactly the same way as you, but only for the subscription or product where you added them. If you have multiple subscriptions, you need to add seat managers for each one separately.

Resign from seat management at any time.

🚫 Cannot add other seat managers. Only subscription owners can add seat managers.

🚫 Cannot update the subscription or make new purchases. Seat managers cannot make changes to the subscription plan, renewal, or billing settings. The subscription owner remains the only person who can make new purchases, cancellations, and renewals.

🚫 Cannot view invoice or payment details. Seat managers have access only to seat management and product access details.
