Become a Seat Manager
If you are the owner of a one-seat or multi-seat subscription, you can manage seats for this subscription and add seat managers. See Add or Remove a Seat Manager.
Also, you can become a seat manager for any subscription that you do not own. As a seat manager, you can assign and revoke seats for all products in that subscription.
- Contact the subscription owner and provide your TechSmith account email address.
- Check your email for a notification that you were added as a seat manager.
- Visit manage.techsmith.com and sign in to your TechSmith account.
- Select Seats.
- In the subscription selector, click a subscription for which you are a seat manager.
You can now assign and revoke seats for all products associated with the subscription.
Resign from Seat Management
As a seat manager, you can resign by yourself to give up the seat management responsibilities. Also, you can contact the subscription owner to remove you as a seat manager.
- Visit manage.techsmith.com and sign in to your TechSmith account.
- Select Seats.
- In the subscription selector, click a subscription for which you are a seat manager.
- Click Resign from seat management.
- Confirm that you do not want to assign or revoke seats for any products associated with the selected subscription.
You are no longer a seat manager for the subscription and cannot view its seat assignments — the subscription disappears from your subscription selector on the Seats page.
To become a seat manager again, please contact the subscription owner.
Frequently Asked Questions
You can find the email address of the subscription owner in the notification sent to your email.
After you resign from seat management, we do not send any email notifications to the subscription owner, and this event is not shown on the History page under Online store orders or Direct orders. However, the subscription owner will no longer see your email in the list of seat managers for the subscription.
If on the Seats page, the Resign from seat management option is not available, most probably, you are the subscription owner. You can do one of the following:
- Add seat managers for the subscription. See Add or Remove a Seat Manager.
- If this is a multi-seat subscription, fully hand it over to someone else. See (Multi-Seat Subscriptions) About Ownership Transfer.
When you select Seats and open the subscription selector, the subscription you are looking for may not be on the list.
Possible reasons:
- Subscription was canceled or deactivated.
- Subscription was purchased with a credit card and expired.
- Multi-seat subscription was purchased with a purchase order and expired more than 30 days ago.
- You are neither the owner nor a seat manager for the subscription.
