As of February 12, 2025 all active maintenance was converted to business license subscriptions with the release of Snagit 2025 & Camtasia 2025. Learn more about maintenance transitioning to Business License subscriptions HERE.
If you have an active business license or individual subscription, you can access the latest version of Snagit or Camtasia.
Snagit 2025 is available for customers with active Business License and Individual Subscriptions.
All eligible customers should receive an email from TechSmith with instructions on how to install the latest version. First check your email, and if you did not receive an email, please try the following.
Check your TechSmith Account
- Visit manage.techsmith.com, sign in to your TechSmith account and go the the Keys tab
- Download your software and paste in your new key when prompted during the installation process.
If you own a Snagit Individual subscription
- Download your software
- If prompted to sign in, sign in with the email you used to purchase
- If you are not prompted to sign in, it's possible Snagit activated automatically. To check to see if you're already activated, choose Help > About Snagit to confirm licensing information
Ask your IT/Admin
If your organization purchased Snagit on your behalf and you are unsure of your license status, please contact your IT/Admin for assistance.
Camtasia 2025 is available for customers with active Business License and Individual Subscriptions. This includes customers with an active Camtasia Plan (Essentials, Create, and Pro).
All eligible customers should receive an email from TechSmith with instructions on how to install the latest version. First check your email, and if you did not receive an email, please try the following.
- Download Camtasia 2025
- If prompted, sign in to the software with the email you used to purchase
- In some cases, like if you've owned a previous version, the software may automatically unlock. To check activation, open the Camtasia Editor and go to Help > About Camtasia.
Check your TechSmith Account
Visit manage.techsmith.com and navigate to the keys tab. If your Camtasia 2025 key is there you can use it to unlock.
If you own a Camtasia Individual subscription (includes Camtasia Plans: Essentials, Create, and Pro)
- Download your software
- If prompted, sign in with the email you used to purchase
- If you are not prompted to sign in, check to see if you're already activated by checking your Home Screen or by opening the Camtasia editor and choosing Help > About Camtasia

Individual License: No software key is required with the subscription purchase! Sign into the software using the email address that was used to purchase to activate the software.
