Change the Language in Camtasia Editor for Windows

Problem

Camtasia Editor is installed and I would like to change the language.

Solution

By Reinstalling:

The language can only be selected when installing Camtasia Editor. In order to change the language Camtasia Editor will need to be uninstalled. Please follow these steps to reinstall Camtasia Editor.

1. Uninstall the Camtasia Editor version(s) of which you want to change the language. To uninstall see this article.
2. Reboot your computer.
3. Reinstall Camtasia Editor from the downloads page.
4. When reinstalling you will be asked which language you would like to use. To install see this article.
   

Without Reinstalling:

1. Close Camtasia Editor
2. Open the Windows Registry Editor by pressing Windows + R and typing in regedit then clicking OK
3. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\TechSmith\Camtasia Studio\
4. Choose the folder of the version you'd like to change (For Example. 22.0 for Camtasia 2022, 23.0 for Camtasia 2023, etc.)

5. Double-click and change the InstallLang Registry key to one of the following:

   Key Value	Langauge
   ENU	English
   DEU	German
   ESN	Spanish
   FRA	French
   PTB	Portuguese
   JPN	Japanese
   CHS	Chinese

6. Close the Registry Editor after completing the changes
7. Run Camtasia Editor again
