About Subscription Expiration
If auto-renewal is turned off or unavailable for your multi-seat subscription, you can renew the subscription manually during 30 days before or after it expires.
At your billing email address, you receive email notifications 30, 15, 7, and 1 day(s) before the expiration, as well as one last email on the expiration date.
Example: your multi-seat subscription expires in 7 days
If you do not renew your multi-seat subscription early (during the last 30 days when it is active), your subscription expires.
After the subscription expires:
- On the subscription page, a yellow hint appears: "This subscription has expired on <date> and is no longer active".
- Users with assigned seats cannot access the product(s) in the subscription.
- You can renew the subscription within 30 days after it expires.
- If you purchased the subscription with a credit card:
- In product details, a red hint appears: "Sorry, your access to this product expired".
- On the Seats page, the expired subscription is not available, and you cannot view or manage seat assignments.
- If your Knowmia Pro or Screencast Pro subscription expired, our content deletion policy will apply. See Knowmia FAQ or TechSmith Screencast Content Deletion Policy FAQ.
If your subscription expired 31+ days ago, it becomes inactive. You can view the subscription number and products in the subscription selector, but you cannot renew the subscription or manage its details.
Renew an Expired Subscription
During 30 days after your multi-seat subscription expires, you can renew the products in your subscription with the same number of seats.
If you would like to renew your multi-seat subscription with additional products or seats, you can add them after you renew the subscription.
- Visit manage.techsmith.com and sign in to your TechSmith account.
- Select Direct orders.
- (If you have multiple subscriptions) In the subscription selector, click the expired subscription that you would like to renew.
- If you have a product that you do not need to renew, remove it.
If your Knowmia Pro subscription expired, and you do not intend to renew it, please take a look at our content deletion policy: Knowmia FAQ or TechSmith Screencast Content Deletion Policy FAQ.
If you would like to renew the subscription with a smaller number of product seats, please renew the subscription, revoke assignments for the seats that you want to return, and then contact Sales to return the seats and get a refund.
- In the Renewal section, review the forecasted amount—approximate amount for renewing the subscription. The actual renewal amount may differ slightly.
Also, please note that if you purchased a product with a discount, it does not apply during renewal. - Click Start renewal.
- Review the products that will be renewed, and the order summary.
- (If your primary payment method is a purchase order) In the Order summary section, provide the purchase order number for this order.
- Click Purchase.
- (If your primary payment method is a purchase order) Familiarize with the Terms and Conditions for the products that you are about to renew.
- Confirm that you would like to complete the purchase and renew the subscription.
Your subscription is renewed for another billing month or year.
For example, if your yearly subscription expired on September 18, 2021, and you renewed it on October 3, 2021, the new expiration date is September 18, 2022.
A PDF copy of the invoice is sent to your billing email address.
- If your primary payment method is a credit card, the payment is processed automatically and appears in Direct orders > Payments. If the payment fails, see (Multi-Seat Subscriptions) Handle a Credit Card Error
- If your primary payment method is a purchase order, please make the payment with a check, wire transfer, or credit card within 30 days. See (Multi-Seat Subscriptions) View and Pay My Invoices.
