Am I eligible for the education discount?

The discounted education rate is available to full-time students, staff, and faculty members of K-12 and higher education institutions who will be using the software for an educational purpose.

If you are teaching or training someone in your role, but are not in a school, college, or university environment, you do not qualify for the discount.

Is this a one-time fee?

When you purchase TechSmith products, you pay a one-time fee to permanently own the version of the application you purchased. Updates are included in the license price, but major release upgrades are not. If you would like to purchase a license upgrade when a newer version is released, the upgrade is available at a reduced cost. You can view current pricing by visiting our online store.

We do offer and recommend optional software maintenance. If you are covered under an active maintenance agreement when a new version is released, then you’d receive the upgrade for no additional charge. Stay covered under active maintenance, and you’ll always be running the latest and greatest version of the program!  You can learn more about our maintenance agreement program by visiting:

Can I install on two machines?

You can install your license on up to two computers for a single user. For example, you can install on a desktop and a laptop or at home and at work.

If your computer crashes or you get a new machine, you can reinstall the version that you purchased, as long as you don’t have the program installed on more than two computers at a time.

If needed, you can download the same version and look up your software key.
